Luis Ángel Diéguez was born in 1976 in Chaparra, a small town in Cuba.
From a young age, his life was marked by the love of his parents, who, despite divorcing when he was eleven, continued to provide him with unconditional support.
It was during his childhood that his passion for art began to flourish: drawing became his refuge, and any surface was perfect for scribbling his first creations.
But his talent wasn't limited to paper. From a very young age, he felt a great attraction to sculpture, experimenting with materials such as wood and stone to shape small works.
A path forged with effort and creativity
Life led him to become a father at an early age, so he decided to dedicate himself to carpentry to support his family.
For years, he worked in the trade, specializing in cabinetmaking, where he was able to continue developing his creativity and artistic skills.
Despite his responsibilities, he never put painting aside.
At every opportunity, he created paintings and took them to Havana, where the tourist market offered him greater opportunities to showcase his art. His efforts soon bore fruit, and the success of his works in the Cuban capital prompted him to make a crucial decision: to dedicate himself fully to painting and move to Havana.
Art as a Way of Life
Once established in the city, he shared a studio with other artists, exhibiting his work in various art spaces. His talent won over the thousands of tourists who visited Old Havana, where he eventually had his own studio and consolidated his career as a professional artist for more than 15 years.
But his story didn't end there. Through art, he met Carmen Triol, with whom he not only shared his creative passion but also began a love affair. They married in Havana and finally achieved their dream of sharing a life together. After an odyssey of bureaucracy and waiting, they embarked on a new chapter in Mallorca, Spain, where they currently reside.
