💫“The History That Unites Us”: An artistic tribute on the 200th anniversary of Uruguay's independence in Mallorca.
On June 30th, we experienced an unforgettable moment at the official ceremony for the 200th anniversary of Uruguay's independence, held at Palma City Hall, Mallorca, where we had the honor of participating as guest artists.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Adriana Santana, president of the Uruguayan Association of Music, Art, and Culture in Mallorca, for her generous invitation and for allowing us to be part of an event steeped in history, emotion, and brotherhood.
An exclusive work for a historic event.
As visual artists, Carmen Triol and Luis Ángel Dieguez, created a unique and symbolic work especially for this special occasion, entitled:
🎨 “The Story That Unites Us”
An original piece, born from the heart, that pays tribute to the ties that unite Uruguay and Spain, and even more so, to the invisible connections that art reveals between cultures, peoples, and generations.
We had the privilege of personally presenting this work to Adriana Santana, as a gesture of gratitude for her tireless work leading the Association, and as a symbol of the respect and admiration we feel for the Uruguayan people and their cultural richness.
An honor that moves us.
During the ceremony, we were moved to receive an honorary title from the Uruguayan Music, Art, and Culture Association, in recognition of our participation as artists and the message of unity our work represents.
For us, this recognition is much more than a title: it is an impetus to continue creating with purpose, to put art at the service of humanity, and to continue building bridges between shores, hearts, and stories.
Thanks to everyone who made this celebration possible.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to all the diplomatic authorities who participated in the event, as well as to the consular representatives who attended and offered their institutional and human presence.
In a very special way, we thank His Excellency the Mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez Llabrés, and Councilor Luisa Marqués, for their support of culture, art, and the celebration of diversity in our city.
We also sincerely thank all the invited artists who shared their talent and sensitivity during the event, as well as the audience, whose warmth and respect made this day a lively and exciting gathering.
And we cannot fail to congratulate all the people who, like us, received their honorable mention for their work, their career, and their commitment to Latin American culture in Mallorca. We share with you the joy and pride of this recognition.
Art as a bridge between cultures.
We firmly believe in the power of art to unite what time, distance, or borders can separate. Therefore, this event was not just a historical commemoration: it was a living celebration of identity, memory, and brotherhood among peoples.
Our work, "The History That Unites Us," is only a symbol of something much greater: the possibility of looking at the past with gratitude, the present with commitment, and the future with hope.
Thank you for trusting our vision.
Adriana Santana, thank you for trusting us. Thank you for opening the doors to this celebration and for allowing us to contribute, through art, a message of unity and love for culture.
We will continue to walk with art as our banner, creating works that connect, that move, and that celebrate the invisible, the intangible, and the true.
With deep gratitude,
Carmen Triol & Luis Ángel Dieguez
